Bio

Logan Ashadar was born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1992. The greatest tragedy of her life is that she will never find faeries at the bottom of her garden. If she ever writes anything worth the reading, she’s probably cheating again. When she grows up, she would like to be Koumyou Sanzo-sama.

Eleutherios was born a diversion from trying to write picture books and short stories for Logan's applied writing course; it became her NaNoWriMo novel when her original NaNo plan fell through via lack of research. It has less to do with Evangelion than you might think, and more with the work of China Mieville and Kazuya Minekura. The word "Eleutherios" is a title both Dionysus and Eros use which means "the Liberator". Weft is not Mieville's Weaver; he was inspired by such and took the name in homage.

In some shape or form, Logan's been trying to write Eleutherios for a long time - it's gone through a number of incarnations, including a brief and unsuccessful RPG. The only things that remained constant were: the name Leviathan, Jack/ie Catherine Dowman, and control bands versus manual controls. This is simply the latest in the trail of giant, robotic story-corpses. It's also only a first draft to get a feel for the characters and plot: next time, everybody gets to be a little darker, a little more developed, and a little more long-winded.
